I ran across the film vignette you referred to at a recent conference. The man meets his estranged wife at a restaurant to tell her he is leaving. She tells him she has a terminal illness. He treats her lovingly… It is one of the 20 five minute vignettes from Paris, Je T’aime (2006), directed by Frederic Auburtin.
